Greetings, dear reader! Today, built-in kitchen appliances are an indisputable trend. As an interior designer, I am very impressed by this: firstly, it really helps to save space in the kitchen, and secondly, it can be placed as convenient for the hostess, and thirdly, this technique looks very stylish and aesthetically pleasing.
It should be remembered that the purchase of built-in appliances has its own nuances. My clients often ask me what is worth buying earlier - appliances or a kitchen set? In my article, I tried to answer this question in detail, and, as always, specialists from the Osmin kitchen goods store helped me. This article is written based on their professional advice and guidance.
What comes first and how is it better?
The equipment of the kitchen space must be started with the selection of equipment - this option is more likely to exclude possible mismatches and installation problems.
Ideally, if you decide on the models and their location at the kitchen design stage: this way you can not only buy or order a suitable set, but also calculate the location of the outlets (and their number), water supply, the required mains voltage and many other technical points.
Of course, it is better to entrust the development of the project to a professional designer, but you can do it yourself. Personally, in my work, I adhere to a certain plan of action, which I will gladly share with you.
Decide on the basic composition of kitchen appliances
Decide which appliances will be built-in and which will be “solo”. Manufacturers of kitchen equipment offer to install not only large appliances - refrigerators, washing machines and dishwashers, ovens, but also small household appliances - coffee machines, food combines, etc. Most often, users stop at the standard four: hob and oven, extractor hood, dishwasher ...
Kitchen
Think over the location of the devices.
It all depends on your personal preferences - if only you are comfortable. However, there are several recommendations that it is advisable to adhere to:
Do not install the hob next to a sink . Firstly, washing dishes or vegetables next to a working stove is not very convenient; secondly, there is a risk of getting burned; thirdly, water on the hot plate can shorten the life of the hob. The optimal distance between it and the sink is 120-180 cm.
Give preference to an independent set of hob and oven . In this case, the placement of devices is limited only by your ideas about comfort. You can choose the traditional way - the cabinet is installed directly under the hob. Or install the oven at chest level - this makes it easier to remove the baking sheets.
Set aside a place for the dishwasher next to the sink. With this arrangement, it will be easier for you: 1) connect the dishwasher to the water supply, 2) load it with dishes.
Leave a free space on either side of the hob. The minimum recommended distance is 40-50 cm.
Provide a distance between the cooker hood and the hob. In order for the kitchen air cleaner to work effectively, the distance between it and the gas hob must be 75-80 cm, the electric one - 70-75.
It is desirable to visualize the arrangement of devices. There are special programs on the Internet that allow you to create a floor plan for free. A simpler option is to sketch a freehand drawing of the future interior. does coffee go bad overnight
Choose kitchen appliances
As we have already said, it is recommended to purchase built-in appliances earlier than the headset. However, not everyone can buy the entire kit right away. This is not necessary: it is much more important to determine your requirements for devices.
Oven
It is better to start the selection of built-in appliances with an oven . Today, most buyers prefer electric models. Their dimensions, as well as their functionality, differ significantly. If you cook often and in large quantities, it is better to buy a large oven (its width reaches 90 cm). Small families or owners of modest kitchens can limit themselves to compact appliances (45 cm wide). On average, most models have a standard width of 60 cm.
Hobs come in gas and electric, with many subtypes. In terms of sizes, manufacturers offer several options for buyers with different needs.
Standard with the usual 3-4 burners 60 cm wide.
Compact, one-, two- or three-burner burners with a width of 30 to 45 cm.
"Giants" with an increased surface, the number of burners can be up to 6; and the width varies from 70 to 120 cm.
Hob
The hood is purchased after having decided on the size of the hob - the air cleaner should be wider. The standard width of the hoods is 60 cm; in stores you can also find compact (45-50 cm) and oversized products (80-120 cm). When buying, be sure to pay attention to the power of the device: it depends on this parameter how effectively it will purify the air.
Hood
You need to choose a dishwasher based on the size of your kitchen and the number of people in the family. In terms of size, they are divided into:
full-size - 60x85 (can hold up to 15 sets of dishes);
narrow - 45x85 (up to 9-10 sets);
compact - 50 (55) x45 (5-6 sets).

Order or buy a ready-made headset Built-in appliances
Only after you have clearly defined your "Wishlist", their location and looked after the right models, you can go for furniture. A good master will take into account all your wishes and offer the best solution, having successfully combined all the components.
In some furniture stores, you can order appliances and headsets at the same time. This is convenient, but be prepared that the total cost of the purchase will be higher than if you selected the equipment separately.
